Between 800 and 1500 AD European countries began to practice a great deal of human trading in Africa. They used sail all around and brought people to Europe, Asia, and America. Basically, they should return after discovering Africa. But Gold, Ivory, oil, cobalt and all other important African wealth and natural resources made them stay. Colonists and missionaries worked together. They did whatever they could to make Africans feel themselves inferior to them for a better domination. Africans were very strong spiritually as God really was among them in all circumstances. In contrast, human bandage, forgetfulness, religion change, immorality, slavery and human trade were put in place. As a result, many Africans were uprooted from their homeland and be brought to foreign countries to serve as slaves.
During slavery many of them were tortured, abused and even forced to fight in their armies for what they did not even know the reason for. Many of African slaves intended to escape looking for means and ways to return to Africa. Unfortunately, the lack of means, possibilities and the distance to where they were brought made it impossible.
Many other escaping strategies were implemented in the secrecy as they looked for ways and alternatives to free themselves out of slavery. Most of those strategic attempts to escape were successful as we can notice a great number of black Africans scattered all around the Caribbean, India and Australia. Those who were unable to escape were bound to remain to where they were and continued to serve as slaves. But they did not relentlessly stop to fight for their freedom which they were successful to overcome. The remaining Africans who served as slave in their own land did not have any place to escape. They stayed in Africa to preserve their lands. But did not either stop seeking for ways to free themselves from slavery. They also fought for their freedom and were successful to overcome it by the help of the almighty God. This is a very long history but!!!!
To those slaves who were brought to foreign countries, they lost their families, friends, tribes, cultures and belongings and knowing not how to reconnect themselves to the roots which they belonged.
This went on from generation to generations. The awareness of returning back home goes far back. The record shows that several organizations were created before 1848 in attempt to encourage the idea of returning back home: The American Colonization Society, founded in 1816 by Charles Fenton Mercer, in 1811, Paul Cuffee, “a black man who was a wealthy man of property, a petitioner for equal rights for blacks” began to explore the idea of black people returning to their native land. He was convinced that “opportunities for the advancement of black people were limited in America, and he became interested in African colonization.” With the help of some Quakers in Philadelphia, he was able to transport thirty-eight blacks to Freetown, Sierra Leone in 1815.
The movement has revolutionized over the time, many organizations, churches, groups, communities, private entities are devoted to helping folks to accomplish this life dream of returning back home. Returning Back to Africa Was Revealed
God is real and always ready to show is love to the oppressed people. The birth of Simon Kimbangu in 1887 marked the end of slavery. In 1921 Father Simon Kimbangu the special envoy of the lord Jesus Christ revealed that all of those who were sold in foreign countries will in days to come be returning in their original African land. The land of their ancestors. They will do more to rebuilt Africa and take the advantage of the African wealth that also belongs to them. People may be wondering if how that lost connection will be turning into a reality seeing that culture, family connection even originality among slaves was lost. The answer would simply be that God never lies. He knows all about the present, past and the future. Everything that was revealed by Father Simon Kimbangu had been happening just as he predicted. That is to say, he knew or knows how and when this reconnection will be taking place.
In reality, the first delegation of African American which was led by George Harris began on October 5, 2000, in Kinshasa precisely in the democratic republic of Congo. They were triumphantly greeted by kimbanguist congregation. Now the first harbinger of their trip mystery was marked by a conversation that brother George Harris had in person before a poster of Father Simon Kimbangu that is placed in the Kimbanguist conference room in Kinshasa.
It was extremely incredible to see a poster of Father Simon kimbangu talking to his son who was lost but found. Brother George saw Father Simon Kimbangu moving through the poster and asked a question to George Harris. But only him who could see and hear the question which was posed by Father Simon Kimbangu. But his answer was heard by everybody in the room. Brother George Harris responded by sweating and weeping aloud. The second was followed with an incredible reception on Sunday program by the kimbanguist faithful at Kasa vubu worshiping center. They were no seats left as people welcomed their brothers African American who returned to the land of their ancestors. Younger people even climbed on trees, fences and roofs to witness the prophecy turning into a reality.
The third was the mysterious host in Nkamba New Jerusalem in October 11. 2000. This meeting between the spiritual leader father Dialungana Kiangani and the African American delegation was pathetic. In front of the audience brother George Harris humbled himself immediately as no visitor had ever done before father Dialungana Kiangani. He kissed long and tenderly his feet, then took the handkerchief from the leader’s doctor and began whipping his face crying and said father we will return home (Africa). Then father Dialungana looked at him and responded, the doors are open for you, if African American ask, God will provide them whatever they need. Those moments were fabulous, spiritual, full of peace, joy and the holy city was filled with the spirit of God. During church program in Nkamba New Jerusalem, the pastor preaching was based on their returning home. He focused on this important biblical chapter (Leviticus 25:8-11). Also, during the banquet that took place on the 14th of October 2000 in honor of the delegation, Brother George Harris announced that “They killed the body, but they could not kill our spirits”. The songs that I’m listening in the kimbanguist church remind me of the Negro Spiritual. What we are feeling here is the same that happened in the U.S.A. we will return. There will be 500, 1000, 2000 and even more to come back. Are you ready for that? How will you accommodate us? Can you build thousands of houses to accommodate us? The anonymous answer from the public was yes, we will. This is a very spiritual connection that everyone should focus on.
Here are some more examples that really show how African Americans always think of returning back to the land of their ancestors: watching and listening to Steve Harvey telling jokes about his trip to Africa, was very relaxing and fun. He got people’s full attention when he mentioned how astonishing and deep his nephew Thomy was. He was amazed about a tip that he wrote while in Africa: “we are going back to a place called home to which we have never been”. …! Going back home to a place you never been before? That’s deep!!! The spiritual and cultural meanings embedded into this powerful statement explain why over the years African Americans never stopped raising the awareness of returning back home whether for fun, pleasure, business, social work, connection to family roots, or prophecy. For Vanessa Williams: knowing the tribe she came from would be a luxury thing as she explained in the interview with ESSENCE MAGAZINE:
ESSENCE.com: Why do you think it’s so important for African Americans to build a family tree?
WILLIAMS: I wish to have the luxury of knowing what tribe we came from and having all of those records available. It is one of our struggles as African Americans, our lack of documentations. It is difficult to find documents and pictures due to slavery, financial issues, etc.…”
In this particular example Mrs. Vanessa Williams’ motivation and driving force is the hope to her ancestor's connection, the same as many African Americans. But the lack of documentations, pictures, financial issues as she mentioned plus the lack of services aboard dedicated to the matter delays the accomplishment of this dream. As known by kimbanguists, Father Simon Kimbangu revealed through his son father Diangienda Kuntima that "the kimbanguist church will be the starting point of their recovery". Because each and every one of them will be revealed through the power of the Holy Spirit, their original ancestors and families which they lost longtime ago. This is a living reality that people will experience in times to come. In the kimbanguist church, much has been done in the context of the prophecy about the African Americans and all blacks return to the motherland. A decision to build a residential town in Nkendelo (Nkamba), was the boldest decision made by the church to see the prophecy coming into a reality.
This was a clear different approach towards the prophecy and an assurance to all children of Africa about the undeniable support they have if returned; it was a declaration of real work, no longer a matter of just words or theory, but a concrete action that was taken.
SE Dialungana Kiangani Salomon Paul, (Spiritual Leader of the EJCSK 1993-2001) laid the first stone for the construction of the Town dedicated to African Americans in Nkendolo/Dialungana Kiangani Solomon Paul is the second Son of Father Simon Kimbangu and mother Muilu Kiawanga Mary. He was married to Kiwasisilua with whom he had several children.
He was the second church spiritual leader from 1992 to 2001 the year of his death.
Nkendolo “The residential City” was born
Nkendolo is one of the eight towns that surround Nkamba New Jerusalem. It's located more Eastwards, a very spiritual site where Simon Kimbangu had sheltered to escaped from the brutality of the colonial army. This is the place designated to African Americans returning back home. The first part of the Project includes 352 Homes including Restaurants. - 150 homes with 3 bedrooms (450 rooms over 97 m2)
- 40 houses with 2 bedrooms (80 bedrooms on 71.25 m2)
- 36 houses of 2 bedrooms, luxury (76 rooms on 117 m2)
- 100 homes with 4 bedrooms (400 rooms on 116 m2)
- 2 common dining (240 m2 to 200 seats)
- 4 restaurants class 3(374 m2 to 480 seats)
- 2 restaurant class 4 & 5(676 m2 to 400 seats)
This demonstrates indeed how huge and important this prophecy is; this housing project is also a declaration of deep love from Africa to its children around the world; here we have the undeniable evidence of how much Africans love they Brothers African Americans. This is contradictory to what is vulgarly propagated in the streets and some communities. The most important is that this gesture of love sets the Kimbanguist Church apart from other organizations; this is a bold example for the entire world to follow, it does not just translate the readiness to welcome them but the fact that there is a roof over their heads, an accommodation prepared uniquely for them.
Ten months after the Project was started, on October 12, 2001, twenty houses (20) built by the small donations of the members of the Church around the world, were inaugurated in the presence of another delegation of African Americans who were presents in Nkamba to celebrate the 50th anniversary of death of Simon Kimbangu the father of the Kimbanguism.
Despite the inauguration of 20 homes, Nkendolo did not open the doors to lodge the visitors until April 6, 2002, 81st anniversary of the Church founder. At this time the USA delegation that visited Nkamba was accommodated in Nkendolo. They were the first living proof of the prophecy coming true. What amazing grace!
In March 2003, the historic city of Nkendolo opened its doors again to accommodate one of the high ranked children, Joseph Kabila, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, who stayed in Nkamba New Jerusalem for 3 days.
Today Nkendolo has become a cosmopolitan international city; able to accommodate personalities of all levels. Nkamba new Jerusalem is the place of unity, love, peace, a place to seek spiritual answers, worship and celebrate GOD.
Our closing note is to remind those who have a chance to read this article, including myself, that God is love 1 John 4:16, nothing can be done without love. The Kimbanguist Church as no sources like any other churches. But able to build Temples, Hospitals, Schools, and Orphanages around the world with love, devotion and small donation of its member.
