Kimbangu behind bar (Sentenced by De Rossi)

The judge De Rossi asked Kimbangu as follow:
Kimbangu, do you know that you have organized a plot against the colonial government considering whites as enemies?
Kimbangu replied
I have not organized any movement against whites neither the government. I was simply preaching the gospel of the lord Jesus Christ.
The judge De Rossi asked
Why did you incite people to abandon their works and told them not to pay tax?
Kimbangu replied
That's not true. In fact, People were coming to Nkamba on their own to listen to God's message and seek for their salvation. None of them were incited not to pay tax.
The judge De Rossi asked
Are you the savior or a prophet?
Kimbangu replied
Yes, I'm the savior. By the divine power that the lord Jesus Christ gave me. I'm not a prophet but a special envoy of the lord Jesus Christ
The judge De Rossi asked
Can you explain about June 06 in Nkamba when your people injured two soldiers? and why did you run away?
Kimbangu replied
The soldiers of the administrator (Morel) brutalized me and opened a fire invading villages. I don't know who injured those two soldiers. I ran away because I wanted to fulfill the mission that was given to me by the lord Jesus.
The judge De Rossi asked
Are you denying inciting the population to uprise against the colonial government, whereas your people were singing songs that were pressing them to get armaments? What was your reaction on that?
Kimbangu replied
None of those songs incited people to revolt against the colonial government. Even in the Baptist churches, they are songs in which Christians call themselves the soldiers of Christ. And the government had never arrested them on what they teach us.
The judge De Rossi asked
where were you hiding from on Jun the 6th to your arrestation day?
Kimbangu replied
I continued preaching the gospel in many villages to accomplish God's mission until I gave myself to the authorities to arrest me.
The judge De Rossi asked
Do you remember causing ailments in the region which led people to bring dead people to you in Nkamba?

Kimbangu replied
None of those ailments were caused by me. I brought dead people back to life through the power of the one who sent me. I'm the one who give life. I have never asked them to bring dead people to me and i could not reject those who came to seek for their salvation.
The judge De Rossi asked
People abandoned their usual works and labors. This wasn't your strategy to incite them to fight against the colonial government.
Kimbangu replied
Once again, I did not incite people to act that way and leave their works.
The judge De Rossi asked
We heard you saying that white people will become black and black will become whites. This wasn't your intension to chase the colonists? what does it means?
Kimbangu replied
Do not explain it literally. God will reveal the meaning of this saying in days to come.
The judge De Rossi asked
When you worked at Leopoldville in the oil company, were you in contact with the Marxist black Americans group? what do you say?
Kimbangu replied
That is totally false.
The judge De Rossi asked
Among your followers, people collected money. Wasn't it because you were preparing people to buy armaments to fight against us?
Kimbangu replied
i did not order people to collect any money and did not ask them to pay me for their salvation. They were collected voluntarily to feed those who came to Nkamba. Christ teaching condemn violation. I wasn't there to create violation. Suddenly Kimbangu started trembling furiously for minutes and said " Isn't God that you are trying to persecute? Christ himself gave me this mission, stop provoking me as I'm fulfilling God's mission. At that moment the court halls started shaking and cracking. The judge suspended the court session and ordered soldiers to give Kimbangu 120 lashes. Kimbangu was judged for seduction and punishment resulting in the death sentence with 140 lashes per day and life imprisonment. He was remoted from his native region to Lubumbashi (eastern Congo) which is about 1500 miles from Nkamba.
But before that, while in Tyseville where he was being sentenced, they put him inside the train going to Leopoldville (Kinshasa) kimbangu asked if he could see his 3 children to give them some instructions. His request was denied. Kimbangu was furious and said if i don't see my children, the train won't start. They replied who are you to say that? they ordered the operator to start the train engine, but the engine could not start after several times. And finally, they came into a conclusion to bring his 3 children. Kimbangu prepared his children and said now let the train move and so it was. Many attempts were made in order to kill him, but they were unsuccessful. One of which was to put Kimbangu in a tank well welded, full of salt and acid. But he did not die and appeared to be standing on top of the tank. They took him to the Congo River, put him inside a welded drum full of stones, chained and casted him to the river. Kimbangu was threading on top of the water. They brought a cross in order to crucify him like Jesus, but the cross was pieced off miraculously. Furthermore, Kimbangu spent 30 years in a very small cell measuring about 4 square feet causeless. But while in prison he was being seen in different locations preaching the gospel of the lord. While in prison, he was being re-arrested in different places. As they tried to call at the place where he was jailed, they would reply, Kimbangu is here in jail but how come, we arrested him in these different places again? It is also to mention that he was reading the bible but explaining it on his own way. in prison (Lubumbashi) he had a good relationship with other prisoners and revealed so many things that i will try to dig more details and share them to you as well. His followers also had suffered numerous tortures but resisted.

Kimbangu was remoted from his native region to Lubumbashi where he spent thirty year in prison. When in prison, Kimbangu was called by the commander Mrs. Cervais who had told Kimbangu that, you will be freed. It's also to remind that, at Kimbangu's arrestation, he was holding a book that was confiscated by the colonial government. The book was shining like a sun which was hard for people to look at it twice. Kimbangu asked, "where is my book that you took from me when you arrested me?" the commander replied, the book was burned. Kimbangu replied, stop lying you have kept it in your office. Go get it and hand it back to me. The commander left and came back with the book. He threw the book on the ground and said there is your book. Kimbangu replied, I gave you the book handy. So, give it to me the same way. Kimbangu took the book and said, during my prison time here you tortured me of any kind that you wanted even tried to assassinate me, but you failed. You didn't even know what was happening. But one day you will pay for it. After few days Kimbangu with his cell door well locked, got out of his cell and said, "from now on my prison days are over" When the commander came again and found him out, he asked who got you out of the cell? go back to your cell. Kimbangu replied no, my prison days are over. You don't have no more the authority to get me back there. I spent thirty years in prison, but I was going wherever I wanted. If i accepted to suffer, it's because i have scarified myself for a good cause. Few minutes later Kimbangu said, I'm sick take me to the hospital. They took him to the hospital where he stayed. The next day in the morning after Kimbangu's hospitalization, the catholic sisters and priests came to the hospital. Kimbangu asked, "why are you here for?" they replied, we came to bless you because you are sick. Kimbangu replied, "if you are really good servants of God, tell me when I'm going to die" if you do so, then i will accept your blessing. The catholic sisters could not tell when he was going to die. They just left. When this was happening, they were guards and other people inside who had witnessed this.
Few minutes later kimbangu called the guards who were securing the hospital and ordered them to surround him and said "my children I have something to tell you. He said," today Friday at three o clock P.M I'm going to die". The guards asked themselves questions. How is it going to happen? he doesn't look sick. Then one of the guards said this man even here in prison, operated so many miracles. If he said so, it would happen let's witness it. Kimbangu again said, my children today at three o clock I'm going to die. But you my children, never forget the words of God. Pray endlessly. God is everywhere. Call him in all circumstances, he will come to help you. Then he said, go back to your place of work. The guard still were wondering on how his death would be. At two o clock, Kimbangu called them again including some prisoners who were also hospitalized and said, "come by me, because i have my last word to leave you. he said" the time that i have promised is near. I'm going to die at three o clock as I promised. I urge you not to forget God words and commandments, come closer so that i can give you my last blessing. So, he did. After that, at three o clock he gave himself few kicks on the right side, he did the same on the left side, he slept and died. The guards called the commander to inform that Kimbangu passed away. The authorities and priests came to prove it as they found Kimbangu already dead. The authorities questioned the guards. They gave all of the information's in details including Kimbangu's last words. The authorities took notes on that information. They called a black doctor and ordered him to perform an autopsy. But he refused. Then they performed it by themselves on the next day which was on Saturday. They opened is body and found nothing inside. All of the internal organs disappeared mysteriously. Those doctors were stunned. The called a great number of priests and government members to witness it. On the same day he was buried.

The next day on Sunday Kimbangu appeared as a soldier to one of the prison commanders who was riding his bike. The soldier was holding a book in his hand reading it. The commander stopped and asked the soldier, where did you get this book? the soldier answered, the book is mine. Then the commander said, give me the book give me the book. The soldier gave him the book. all of a sudden, the commander found himself with ten fingers in each hand. He was terrified and gave the book back to the soldier. After handling the book back, his fingers came back as they were. On that day all of the soldier's belongings in the camp were searched trying to find the book among soldiers. Because the commanders were all terrified. On Wednesday at twelve o clock the commander got a call from the headquarter in Kinshasa. He orders them to stop searching for the book among soldiers claiming to find someone with the book in Kinshasa. That was Kimbangu.

In conclusion, Kimbangu knew people's intentions after his death that they will be taking his internal organs out. That's why he gave himself those kicks removing everything from his body not to allow them to take anything from him. Kimbangu was at first buried in Lubumbashi. Then his body was taken back to his native town Nkamba . Kimbangu died with one eye open and one eye closed Meaning that, he is among the living and dead people. Imagine this, until now his body is like a living person sleeping. His hairs and nails grow. This is the site where his body rests until now.
